The Back Story
My first meeting with Maria & Andy involved an engagement shoot at Battersea Park. It was a cute evening shoot, where the weather tried to disrupt our plans. But come rain or sunshine I am always prepared. You can see more from the shoot on their engagement shoot blog post. But for now please enjoy the small sample below:
The Wedding Day
On the couples' special day, we began with the morning preparations. While my second shooter focused on the groom prep at Chelsea Harbour Hotel, I began the work on getting the brides' preparations at her family home. Unlike most weddings, this one was special as Maria had some Catholic Sri Lankan traditional elements that played an important role in the preparations.
It was a beautiful ceremony held at the St Bartholomew's Catholic Church in Streatham, South London.
The Couple Shoot
Following from the ceremony, the couple and I headed to Imperial Park, a short distance from their reception venue, Chelsea Harbour Hotel for the couple shoot. This is always a lovely chance to celebrate the new union with intimate images of the newlyweds. And continued with a quick shoot in front of the hotel, before joining the guests.
Following from the couple shoot, the focus was set on the speeches, bouquet toss, cutting of the cake and the traditional elements of Sri Lankan culture.
I hope you enjoy the rest of the images from their special day below.
