Newham Town Hall Wedding Photography

Where to begin with Jayson & Don's Wedding?! I had so much fun getting to know this lovely couple and photographing their wedding! It began with a message on a listing website and after being impressed with my portfolio, we agreed to meet at The Dirty Dicks Pub in Central London for a pint to discuss their special plans. After getting to know them properly and discovering the history of their relationship, I knew I had to blow their socks off. They had been together for many years in New York, back when it was illegal for Same Sex marriages. When they both moved to London for work they decided to get married in Mauritius and had a terrible ordeal with their photographer out there, only to learn when they got back, that the UK didn't recognise their marriage license as legal tender. So they decided to have a civil ceremony, only for global pandemic and subsequent lockdowns to block their attempts, so they put in on the back burner. Fast forward to 2022, they decided to try again and that's when they found me and fell in love with my natural style.

On the day of the wedding, I met them at their family home in Stratford to capture the meet and greet with their closest friends. We hopped onto a double decker wedding bus and made our way to Newham Town Hall. After a short wait outside on a gorgeous sunny day, we went into the room for the ceremony. It was a beautiful ceremony full of laughter and tears of joy of finally sealing the deal after so long. I gathered the guests together with the couple on the stairs outside, for a lovely group photo before we set off for their reception.

When we arrived at the Swan at the Globe Restaurant, we decided to have the confetti throw on the steps leading to Shakespeare's Globe. This lead to one of my favourite ever images, where one of the guests threw some leftover confetti over Don and he naturally lifted up his arms in joy for the photo. We then had a quick couples shoot before entering the restaurant for the reception drinks.

Inside the restaurant I captured the details of the beautiful decor and also captured their reactions to seeing the magnificent blue tiered wedding cake. It came out exactly how they had envisioned and it was a pleasure to see them so happy. After capturing their friends on the balcony it was time for me to go.

Overall, I throughly enjoyed capturing their wedding and I hope you love the images below.
