In the summer of 2021, Nic & Rob contacted Couture Wedding Films in their search for the perfect wedding photographer for their special day. Which was to be held at the Hilltop Barn in Poynton, Manchester. When the team contacted me to ask about my availability to photograph their friends wedding, I jumped at the opportunity to capture my first legal outdoor ceremony. It was liberating to finally shoot a wedding outside of London after the months of being stuck in the city during all those Covid lockdowns.

The bride got ready at her parents home which was a short drive away from the venue. I loved that her floral arrangements were done in house. Given that they had a beautiful garden full of gorgeous flowers. In fact, I loved it so much that my photo of the brides bouquet is my default image banner for all my wedding contracts with booked clients.

The beautiful ceremony held in the summer sunshine led to some stunning outdoor images as they declared their love for one another under a lovely handmade wooden frame. And the location made for the perfect backdrop for the confetti shower of petals when the couple made their exit. Speaking of the wooden frame, we moved it and then took some beautiful images of the couple overlooking the city of Manchester.

After taking wedding photographs of the group session overlooking a separate valley, the couple and their guests headed into the rustic barn for their wedding breakfast and all the other activities of the reception.

One of my favourite memories from the wedding was during the couples photo session. I enlisted the help of one of Nic's bridesmaids to hold up her dress as we made our way into one of the farms fields. The funny (or not so funny, depending on who you ask) moment happened during our shoot. The bridesmaid - in her open toe sandals stepped into a fresh cowpie! Which, as you can imagine, sent the couple howling with laughter :) This led to some of the most genuine reactions I've ever captured during a couples session. Luckily, the bridesmaid was cool with it, having grown up around farm animals herself in Crete.

In conclusion, it was a great pleasure to capture Nic & Rob's special day and I hope you love the images I captured below. If you'd like to book me for your outdoor wedding, please do get in touch to see if I'm available for your wedding photography :)
