A Summer Festival Wedding | Abi + Jack | 2022 - Martin Sylvester Photography & Videography

Abi & Jack's Wedding Photography Story:

This wedding at Woodhouse Farm in Cheshire was so incredible to capture with my documentary and editorial wedding photography style. It was very important to the couple that I focused on photographing candid images of their daughter and their loved ones.

The main style of the day was rocker chic, and I have to say the bride and her bridesmaids looked very cool in their leather boots and jackets. Even if they did ditch the jackets fairly quickly as it was a very hot summer day! hehe

After a beautiful ceremony at their local church we arrived at the farm and captured the stunning confetti entrance. Once they finished the greetings, before long the guests were seated and the speeches commenced. I loved being able to photograph all the emotional precious moments, especially a very moving moment when the father of the bride presented the groom with a sentimental rock.

After the cutting of the cake and first dance, myself and the videographer grabbed our relaxed couple for a shoot as the sun was setting. The stunning golden light was the perfect setting for the couples session and we produced some really gorgeous images for Abi & Jack. On our way back to the festivities under the tipi's I had the couple hold hands and briskly skip under the canopy of festive lights.

Which brings us to one of my favourite memories from their special day. Earlier that morning, during the bridal preparations, we overheard the bridesmaids excitedly discussing a surprise for the bride. After approaching them, we learnt that one of her bridesmaids would wear a dinosaur costume later in the evening. After the couples shoot, we coordinated with the girls and surprised Abi on the dance floor. The resulting images were both hilarious and fun :)

Overall, I have to say it was an honour to be their wedding photographer and it was such a fun experience. Hearing afterwards how much they loved their wedding photos was so special to me and it's why I do what I do!
