Family life rarely stands still, and I think that's exactly what makes it worth photographing.

Whether we're exploring one of London's beautiful parks, walking through your favourite neighbourhood or spending a relaxed afternoon at home, my approach is simple: capturing your family as you are, with a little creative direction along the way.

No pressure to pose perfectly or get everyone smiling at the same time. Just a relaxed experience, beautiful photographs and memories you'll enjoy looking back on for years to come.

A Relaxed Approach to Family Photography

I'm Martin, a London-based photographer with over 14 years of experience photographing people and their stories.

Much of my work has been centred around weddings, and one of the nicest parts of being a photographer has been welcoming couples back in front of my camera as their families grow.

Over the years, I've also had the pleasure of photographing families visiting London, helping them capture their time together in a way that feels relaxed, personal and natural.

My photography combines candid moments with thoughtfully composed portraits. I'll guide you when needed, suggest a few ideas and make sure we capture everyone together, but I'll also give you space to simply enjoy the experience.

After all, some of the best photographs happen when you're not thinking about the camera.

Your Family, Your Setting

OUTDOOR FAMILY PHOTOGRAPHY

London has some wonderful places for family portraits, from leafy parks and quiet gardens to familiar streets and favourite neighbourhoods.

Outdoor sessions give us plenty of room to move around, explore and capture a mix of natural interactions and beautiful family portraits.

They're especially lovely for younger children who prefer exploring to sitting still.

At-Home Family Photography

Three generations of smiling women, a grandmother, mother with tattoos, and toddler, cuddle together on a bed in a warm family portrait.
A woman and a bearded man in profile gently hold two newborn babies between them, the father kissing one baby's head by a bright window.

Sometimes the most meaningful backdrop is your own home.

At-home sessions offer a more personal, documentary approach to family photography. Whether it's reading together, playing with the children or simply spending time in your favourite room, there's something special about capturing everyday family life in a familiar setting.

We can also create some more traditional family portraits along the way, without making the experience feel overly formal.

“We took family photos with Martin during our summer visit to London and we could not have been more pleased. The pictures are incredibly lovely! Martin is an amazing photographer, capturing many memorable sites for us to celebrate our London trip forever. Martin is kind, patient, and creative. Don’t hesitate booking him for photos! Thanks so much Martin, we appreciate you!”

Emily

“We absolutely loved the experience. Martin made us feel so comfortable and captured some really beautiful, natural moments of us as a family. The photos are something we'll really treasure, and I love how he captured Evelyn's personality as well as those little moments between us.”

ViV

Wedding couple turned family client

“Martin was great and we have an amazing selection of photos with our 13-month old from our trip to London! He captured her so well. We also appreciated he was able to change our shoot time day of as our LO [little one] wasn’t feeling well. Highly recommend Martin!”

Kaylynn

“Martin was great. He patiently waited for us to arrive after getting lost. He did a great job of coordinating a photo shoot for two families at the same time. Photos turned out great. I would recommend.”

A Few Things You Might Be Wondering

What if my children won't sit still?

That's absolutely fine! I don't expect children to spend an entire session posing for photographs. We'll work around their personalities, give them room to explore and keep things relaxed. Some of the most enjoyable family photographs come from exactly those moments.

Can we include grandparents or extended family?

Of course. I'm happy to photograph different generations together. Just let me know how many people you'd like involved so we can plan the session accordingly.

Where in London can we have our photoshoot?

I'm happy to suggest locations depending on the kind of photographs you'd like. Whether it's somewhere iconic, a quieter park or a place that means something to your family, we'll work out a suitable setting together.

Travel anywhere within Greater London is included in the price. If you’d like a location further afield, just get in touch and I’ll quote for the extra travel.

What happens if the weather is bad?

A little cloud is never a problem! In fact, overcast skies can be lovely for natural family portraits. However, if heavy rain or particularly bad weather is forecast, we'll keep an eye on the conditions and decide together whether to go ahead. If needed, we can reschedule your outdoor session for another available date at no additional cost.

What should we wear?

I'd recommend choosing outfits that complement one another without feeling too coordinated. Comfortable clothing, complementary colours and avoiding overly distracting patterns usually work well. I'm happy to offer some guidance before the shoot.

Do we need to have booked you for our wedding?

Not at all! While I love reconnecting with former wedding couples, family sessions are open to everyone.

When will we receive our photographs?

Your sneak peek of favourite images will arrive within 48 hours, and your full gallery of 50 professionally edited photographs within three weeks of your session. You’ll receive a private online gallery where you can view, download and share all your high-resolution images with family and friends. No watermarks, just your memories to enjoy and keep!

What if we need to reschedule?

Life with children is unpredictable, so if someone is unwell or plans change, just let me know and we’ll find a new date. A £100 booking fee secures your session, with the balance due 48 hours before. You can reschedule once free of charge with 48 hours’ notice, and illness never counts against you, whatever the notice. Full booking terms are shared when you book.

How do I book a family photoshoot?

Simply click the 'Book Your Family Session' button to view available dates and choose a time that works for your family. Once you've submitted your booking request, I'll be in touch to confirm the details and help plan your session. Not quite ready to book or have something specific in mind?
